Old Tin Can is a new online store selling 100% recycled goods such as clothing accessories and homeware. The items are made from some crazy things such as recycled tin cans, old 12″ vinyl records and disused number plates.
The original creations are handmade by local artists in the townships and farms of Cape Town, South Africa. The artists transform old tin cans, disused number plates and redundant records into designer handbags, baseball caps, fruit bowls, dustbins, ornaments, briefcases and much more. All are beautifully finished; lined, edged and hand stitched.
Ethically minded consumers can help save the environment by wearing recycled accessories and also help to keep South African artists in employment. Old Tin Can ltd gives 10% of its profits to the Out Of the Box craft school in South Africa which trains disadvantaged and unemployed men and women a craft skill in order for them to gain employment.
